When a patient often has swelling and movement of the fingers and arms, and the person's body twitches, Lulu Gancao Decoction governs it. (Jin Gui Yao Lue (Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Cabinet))

Composition

Lulu 15 g; Gancao 15 g

Preparation

Decoct in water for oral administration, once a day.

Function

Induce vomiting and guide out Phlegm.

Traditional indications

1. Wind-Phlegm in the diaphragm, with swelling of the joints of the fingers and arms, accompanied by tremor and twitching of the whole-body muscles. 2. Severe epilepsy, where Phlegm is in the blood vessels and nerves, requires the emetic method for radical treatment.

Cautions

After the patient has finished vomiting, Xiao Jianzhong Decoction is needed to regulate the intestines and stomach to complete the treatment.
