Editorial standards & review
How Atlas TCM selects, checks, translates and corrects its reference content — and what “reviewed” does and does not mean here.
What we publish
Atlas TCM is an educational reference for acupuncture points, Chinese materia medica and classical formulas. Content is structured around source-traceable fields: location, properties, indications, composition, classical text and safety notes. We do not provide diagnosis, prescriptions or treatment plans.
Sources and selection
Priority is given to the WHO Standard Acupuncture Point Locations (2008), the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China, NIH/NCCIH, PubMed-indexed literature and named classical texts. Traditional records and modern evidence are kept separate. Source names and links are shown on the page; classical book titles are retained in their original form.
How content is checked
Entries are extracted from structured source data, cross-checked against the cited standard, and reviewed for terminology consistency across English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese. Safety statements are limited to what the cited source supports. Translated fields are checked for terminology, punctuation and meaning, and corrected when errors are found.
Review status
Pages may be source-linked before a named practitioner review is completed. Where that review is still pending, we do not present the page as clinically reviewed. We are expanding named review coverage; reviewer identity, qualifications and review date will be shown when available.
Updates and corrections
Reference pages are updated when source data, terminology or safety information change. If you find an error, a mistranslation or a missing source, contact us through the About page with the URL and the correction. Verified corrections are applied and the page date is updated.
Current review status
Source-linked and terminology-checked; named practitioner review is being expanded. Pages that have not completed named review are not presented as clinically reviewed.
