Educational reference on TCM culture & literature — not medical advice.

About This Site

An independent, source-traceable reference for learning traditional Chinese medicine — so the classics can be found, traced, and understood across English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese.

Why this site exists

Atlas TCM began as a personal project. Its author studied computer science and spent nearly twenty years in software. A health issue led him to traditional Chinese medicine; he stayed for the classics. He studied for three years at Jingyi Academy under Teacher Lin, a student of Master Ni (Ni Haixia). This site is what happens when a programmer’s habits — citations, cross-links, traceability — meet classical Chinese medicine. It started as a tool for looking things up. Now it is shared with anyone who trusts TCM, loves it, or simply wants to understand it.

Editorial standards and sources

We don’t invent content. Every entry is checked against traceable sources and linked to them: the WHO Standard Acupuncture Point Locations (2008), NIH/NCCIH, the Pharmacopoeia of the People’s Republic of China, and PubMed. Traditional records and modern evidence are kept clearly separate. Sources are shown on the page. Anything awaiting expert review is marked as such. You don’t have to take it on faith. You can trace it.

What you can find

3D-locatable acupoints, with real-person location images and traditional applications; materia medica with properties, safety, and the formulas they appear in; classical formulas with original text and explanations — cross-linked by symptom, meridian, and body region.

Our responsibility and limits

This is an educational reference for TCM culture and literature. It is not medical advice. It must not be used for diagnosis or self-treatment. Never self-insert needles. Any application should be done under the guidance of a qualified practitioner. We value accuracy, and we correct errors when we find them.

On lineage

TCM is a tradition more than two thousand years old. It has survived because each generation has been willing to hand it to the next. May this small site carry that knowledge a little further in the digital age, across languages: accurate, honest, and open to anyone who wants to learn.
