1. Used for blood dysentery due to heat toxin and chronic dysentery due to cold accumulation. It can be used alone; for example, in Yi Xue Zhong Zhong Can Xi Lu, this product is used alone, peeled, 20–50 seeds, taken with white sugar water, to treat heat-type red dysentery and blood in stool and urine due to heat. Based on predecessors' experience in using this product to treat chronic dysentery due to cold accumulation, modern clinical practice uses it for amoebic dysentery by combining oral administration and enema. 2. Used for various types of malaria. It can be used for all types of malaria, with better effects on tertian and quartan malaria, and it is also effective for malignant malaria. 3. External use for corns and warts. This product has a corrosive effect when used externally. Mash Brucea javanica kernels and apply to the affected area, or apply Brucea javanica oil and 90% Brucea javanica ointment topically. Take care to protect the surrounding normal skin with adhesive tape to prevent irritation to normal skin. 4. External use for fungal nail infection (gray nails). Take an appropriate amount of raw Brucea javanica powder, mix with white vinegar, then dip a cotton ball or cotton swab and dot it on the gray nails.
