A main formula for treating all headaches; effective regardless of left or right, unilateral or general, new or old.
Composition
Ophiopogon (Maimendong) 5g; Huangqin 4g; Qianghuo, Duhuo, Fangfeng, Cangzhu, Danggui (Angelica sinensis), Chuanxiong, Baizhi each 3g; Vitex Fruit (Manjingzi), Chrysanthemum each 2g; Asarum (Xixin), Licorice each 1g; Dried Ginger 0.5g
Preparation
Decoct in water and take warm.

Dispel wind, regulate Qi and blood, guide Qi downward, expel water-dampness, and disperse blood stagnation in the head.

It has marked efficacy for intractable headache, chronic headache, trigeminal neuralgia, migraine, menstrual headache, pain from maxillary swelling/ulcer, headache caused by brain tumor, etc.
