-- Treats excessive blood loss after childbirth, vexation, dizziness, and loss of consciousness, as well as all fetal Qi instability; it also expels a dead fetus.

Chuanxiong two qian, Chinese Angelica five qian

The above medicinals are chopped; use half a liang each time, decoct in water for oral administration. (Modern usage: the two medicinals are ground according to proportion into raw medicinal powder for later use; at the time of labor pains, take it mixed with warm water or wine, 4–6g at a time.)

湯劑

Assist labor.

Take after labor pains begin to assist labor.

If used to expel the fetus, it should be made into powder and taken mixed with wine.
