Treats pathogenic heat in the Heart channel in adults and children, all accumulated toxins, dry throat and mouth, great thirst with desire to drink, palpitations and facial heat, restlessness, red eyes and eye pain, scorched lips and nosebleed, sores in the mouth and tongue, and sore swollen throat. It also treats red, rough, painful urination, or retention of urine with blockage, as well as heat strangury and blood strangury; it is suitable to take in all these cases.

Plantago seed, Dianthus, Knotgrass, Talc, Gardenia fruit, Licorice (honey-fried), Akebia stem, Rhubarb (wrapped in dough, roasted, remove dough, cut, and bake), each one jin.

The above is made into a Powder. For each dose, take two qian, add one cup of water, add Juncus pith, decoct until reduced to seven-tenths, remove the dregs, and take warm after meals and at bedtime. For children, give a small amount according to their strength. (Modern usage: Powder, 6-10 g per dose, taken with Juncus pith decocted as a Decoction; as a Decoction, add Juncus pith and decoct in water, with the amount determined according to the condition.)

Clear heat, drain fire, promote water, and free strangury.

Damp-heat pouring downward, causing heat strangury, stone strangury, and other patterns. Symptoms include fever, frequent urination, painful and rough urethra, dribbling and unsmooth urination, distending pain in the loins and abdomen, or paroxysmal severe pain, red tongue with yellow coating, and slippery, rapid pulse.

Severe Yang deficiency, pale white, enlarged tongue with tooth marks, right cubit pulse deep and tight: add Prepared Aconite: 10.

This formula is a bitter-cold draining preparation. Excessive administration may cause deficiency patterns, such as dizziness, palpitations, weakness of the limbs, poor appetite, etc. Therefore, it is suitable for excess patterns; use with caution in those with weakness. If strangury is prolonged and the constitution is weak, it should not be used. Because the formula contains many draining substances, use with caution during pregnancy.
