Mufangji Decoction with Gypsum Removed, plus Poria and Mirabilite

金匱要略

Phlegm-fluid retention in the diaphragm (supporting fluid), the patient has panting and fullness, hard stuffiness below the heart, a darkish complexion, and a deep, tight pulse; it has been present for dozens of days. If doctors treat with emesis and purgation, it does not heal. Mufangji Tang governs it. For the deficient, it heals immediately; for the excess, it relapses after three days. If it is again administered and does not heal, it is appropriate to govern with Mufangji Decoction with Gypsum removed plus Fuling and Mangxiao Tang. Mufangji 2 liang, Guizhi 2 liang, Renshen 4 liang, Mangxiao 3 ge, Fuling 4 liang. The above five ingredients: with water 6 sheng, boil to take 2 sheng, remove dregs, add Mangxiao, briefly boil again, divide into two warm doses; slight diarrhea then heals. (Shanghan Zabing Lun)

Chest fullness, oppression, and pain; stagnation and blockage in the chest; panting; shortness of breath; bodily fatigue; epigastric hardness and fullness or pain; difficult urination; darkish complexion; pale and enlarged tongue; yellow coating or mixed with white; deep, string-like pulse.
