Original text
-- When water is removed and vomiting stops, if the person has swelling of the body, add Apricot Kernel to govern it. For this pattern, Ephedra should be included, but because the person then has numbness, it is not included; if it is included contrary to this, there will necessarily be reversal. The reason is that the person has blood deficiency, and Ephedra releases their yang. (Jin Gui Yao Lue (Essential Prescriptions of the Golden Cabinet))
