-- In cold damage for five or six days, after sweating has been used and then purgation given again, with fullness and slight binding in the chest and hypochondrium, unfree urination, thirst without vomiting, sweating only on the head, alternating chills and fever, and heart vexation: this indicates that the disease is not resolved. Harmonize Shaoyang and concurrently Resolve Phlegm and retained fluids.

Shaoyang disease complicated by internal binding of water and retained fluids. In cold damage for five or six days, after sweating and then purgation, with fullness and slight binding in the chest and hypochondrium, unfree urination, thirst without vomiting, sweating only on the head, alternating chills and fever, and heart vexation. It also treats Mu malaria and chronic malaria that do not resolve.

If there is Yang deficiency, with a pale, white, enlarged tongue with tooth marks and slippery watery coating: add Pao Fu Zi (Prepared Aconite): 10. -- If there is blood deficiency with sallow complexion, dizziness, and pain: combine with Dang Gui Shao Yao San.

There are reports in Japan of this formula causing interstitial pneumonia; it is recommended to undergo X-ray examination after taking the medication for 3 months.
